	After the couple of quite upbeat songs released on the Ralph Records' Subterranean Modern compilation, Chrome as a duo settled itself to work on a more atmospheric project. The album is like one unabridged track with musical and rythmic themes repeated over and over. There's that beat which sounds like it has been sampled from the first Public Image Limited LP, the imposing synth line, some voice-over by Helios and, for sure, tons of phased guitars and tape loops. Surely, Read Only Memory stands as the most strange release in the Chrome discography, because of its non-melodic approach and the absence of classic song structure.
